At Ethos Engineering, we’re leading the way in sustainable building services. As part of our continued commitment to innovation and environmental stewardship, we're seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our dynamic team.
In this role, you'll take the lead on environmental certifications, with a particular focus on LEED AP, playing a key part in shaping sustainability strategies across a diverse range of projects including data centres, commercial, and residential. You'll collaborate closely with clients, design teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver robust and forward-thinking solutions that align with sustainability best practices and legislative requirements.
About You
Essential
- Must be based in Ireland.
- 5+ years' experience as a sustainability consultant or in a related role.
- A degree in sustainability, construction, environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- LEED AP (with Speciality) qualification.
- Strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering measurable change in the built environment.
- Proven experience delivering third-party certification schemes (e.g. LEED, BREEAM).
- Strong working knowledge of environmental assessments such as LEED, BREEAM, and EU Taxonomy.
- Practical experience conducting Life Cycle Assessments (LCA).
- Skilled at working in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments.
- Confident in managing your own workload and supporting junior consultants.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable engaging with clients and project teams at all stages.
Desirable
- Professional qualifications in:
- BREEAM Assessor / AP
- Experience supporting the implementation of sustainability strategies across large-scale or complex projects.
- Familiarity with net-zero carbon, operational and embodied carbon strategies.
- Previous experience mentoring or line-managing junior sustainability professionals.
Day-to-Day Activities
- Lead and manage sustainability certification processes (LEED, EU Taxonomy, etc.).
- Liaise with clients, design teams, and other stakeholders to establish sustainability criteria and project goals.
- Conduct pre-assessments, credit reviews, and gap analyses for LEED and other rating systems.
- Coordinate and compile documentation for environmental credits and certification evidence.
- Undertake Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to inform design and material decisions.
- Support the Sustainability Directors in evolving the company’s sustainability service offering and QA/QC processes.
- Produce clear, high-quality reports and sustainability guidance for clients and internal teams.
- Attend site visits and project meetings to monitor progress and maintain alignment with project sustainability targets.
- Mentor junior team members and oversee their contributions to project deliverables.
